BILINGUAL CHILDREN'S BOOK

The picture book tells the story of the boa who’s been to the island, but the island is too small for such a large snake: no space to live and no food tob e found.

A story about courage and friendship between very different animals: a warawara, an iguana, an owl, a snake and a pelican.

AUTHOR
CURT FORTIN is in the Netherlands known as actor and presenter. He played a role in the (soap) series Onderweg naar Morgen and Bon Bini Beach. And he presented the children's programme Hoela Hoep. Curt made his writing debut in 2014 with the book Yakanuko, een gevaarlijke opdracht [Yakanuko a dangerous assignment]. He has been invited to write for the 2015 Children’s Book Week Present for 23rd Children’s Book Festival in Aruba.

"When writing the book for the children's book week, I went back to my childhood when I still lived in Aruba. I was then 5. I loved nature. The freedom to be out running around and to have the animals all around you. Animals as the Yuwana, Blenchi and Trupiaal. They also star in this story. It is a special story about friendship and what it means to devote yourself to this."
