Lasana M. Sekou (ed.)

A first and fascinating labor of love and scholarship highlighting, in text and illustrations, St. Martin's people, history, culture and natural environment. Extensive bibliography.

National Symbols of St. Martin affords the St. Martiner a better understanding of self and his environment. Here at last is a unique and prized compilation of cultural historical, and environmental information. This book affirms that we are a people. It allows us to look back with pride and move forward with renewed spirit and determination in the building of our nation.” - Shermina Powell-Richardson, Departmente of Culture, Philipsburg, St. Martin

National Symbols stands out like a light shining into the future, like a rock and an ever-living tree to which we and unborn generations can and will be able to run to for rescue, revitalization, and shade." — Alain Richardson
