Walter Palm

The love for and from his muse inspired Walter Palm to write these passionate love poems. The collection is an ode to Shéhérazade. Like the legendary storyteller the poet tries to fascinate his beloved one for a year long with a praiseworthy for every week. She awakened his existence with kisses and he keeps on fascinating her with enchanting poems.

WALTER PALM born in 1951 in Curaçao belongs to the Palm family, the famous family of musicians. He debuted in his twenties with poems in the Antillean literary magazine ‘Watapana’. In 2001 he is appointed to Ridder in de Orde van Oranje Nassau for his work. In 2005 he is included in the prestigious ‘Spiegel van de moderne Nederlandse en Vlaamse dichtkunst’, the literary hall of fame of all important modern Dutch poets. Een serenade voor mijn Shéhérazade is, after Met lege handen ging ik slapen, met een gedicht werd ik wakker (2002) and Sierlijke golven krullen van plezier (2009), his third collection of poems published by In de Knipscheer.
